House of Hackers

When first time I heard about HoH, I think I finally found my place. Where I can share my ideas, found someone who can solve my problems, or work together on some projects. But after a time i join, I think this site have missing an important power. The Community power.
Member of a social network, somehow, must have a share habit. When we join a community, means that we're ready to get some stupid question by newbies, work together to solve problems we encounter. And also, share what we have to the community.
I think that's the main problem and main answer about why this site is hard to expand.
Finally, it just my opinion. And sorry if my English bad. I'm Indonesian...

Cheers pdp.
Another point that about community. On most hacking websites you get members that will only post on what they now about, ie: I reply alot about wireless and networking on other places. This means that you get very few posts and even fewer 'post whores', the later of which add to the community. The rant recently about scirpt-kiddies is also a bad idea as although some people lack skills that others hold highly, these to add to the community.

yeah. I hope V2 can "refresh" this community.

All I can say is that V2 is the way forward; prove your worth by interacting with knowledge and the social will follow.

Well said.
The only reason this site is struggling is not the lack of passion, want or endeavor but the lack of community. But, this isn't a new thing. 'hackers' are rash, un-emotional, egotistical and difficult. It depends on there mood.
Other forums that have been around for years all faced problems because the 'Top dogs' won't help unless there is sort of Proof of Concept or legality but after a while a smaller group of members build respect for each other and a Phoenix like thing happens. These rants that have happened can only moved to galvanize people and work towards a better sense of community. We'll still have 'Top dogs' but we will all have a better understanding of each other.
I think pdp has moved in the right direction as V2 can be used for brain-storming, projects and PoCs. The HoH can be used as the social side (Thanks Obi-w00t) but it may never be a place to expand knowledge but to grow ideas into projects and such on V2.
