Well I decided to inform them as I felt the file containing over 7000 students usernames and passwords needed removing asap. So after a long time of talking with a support desk staff member my case was finally passed onto the university's department of security. I was told the security department would be in touch with me directly to discuss the issue. The file was removed around 12 hours later.
