Hello!

Hi, i'm Raven

I've been reading gnucitizen posts for some time now. It inspires me to think about new and up-to-date ways to improve code and understand exactly how it works.

I'm mostly interested in general programming (low/high level, efficiency and security), cryptography, physics and mathematics, open source, finding exploits and security (both system and ethical/user).

Some interesting links/programs I have encountered:
Metasploit [exploit and injection opensource]
clez.net [whois/traceroute]
Maltego [information mapping (not free)]
gnucitizen.org

Paterva has come out with a community version of Maltego - MaltegoCE. It is limited in functionality, but is still very useful. Just some notes: you may need to edit the config file of the program if you have two situations: 1- You have multiple versions of java, you will need to tell the program where your default path is at and uncomment #jdkhome 2 - If you don't have a lot of RAM installed on your system. You'll need to adjust the memory from 64M and 1024M to something your system can handle. This will slow the program down, but it will work. (The config file is located under the bin folder of the maltego program folder.) - Hope this helps all. (If you run into any other issues look under the community group on the website.) --And no more api keys required.

Yes, Maltego went commercial about a month back. I've got some older version and if I'm not mistaken, I thought that they still had a free version available with limited functionality. I had to regsiter and get a license. Then I had to go through the transform manager and make sure all transforms were active. I've used the program for information mapping and it provided a lot of interesting stuff that you may not have normally come across. If you can afford it and you can justify the purchase, I would still definitely recommend getting Maltego. Thanks for the comments.
