Erm, actually "anonymous" in the sense Der Jäger is talking about is nothing more than a 4chan meme...

"anonymous" as if mentioned as a group is exactly that. They invite you, you can't invite yourself. They watch you, and after some time "THEY" become impressed with you for what ever skills you might have. But I dare not say anything else because they are watching.

This name, from what I know "anonymous" belongs also to a dark and malicious group that are very dangerous. They hack with malicious intentions to cripple and destroy all who stand in their way.

1) I think the group is a group of activists against the idea of Scientology first off.

2 )There may be more groups in other areas around the world simply using the term "Anonymous" in the same manner for other activist ideas and such.

Conclusion ) Reading up on it all I think the idea originated out of Japan from a small group on image boards, and then spread all over the world in time. This video gives some in-site on this issue that most have already seen I am sure.

Final thoughts ) Not sure why they choose the mask off the movie V for Vendetta kinda makes since, I guess ;)
I am guessing because it is the closest thing to representing the term "Anonymous"
in their point of view in some cases. So all in all they are simply using this to share with others the same idea, and hiding behind a mask at the same time IMOP.
