At least a hack is defined by its aim, i think so.
Sometimes the elegance plays a role itself, but i prefer good and ethic aims as a base for a hack.
If this goes hand in hand with elegance, what means perfect algorithms and mathematical usage of the given paradigmas, then the perfection is very near, but i must admit, i_m far away of that ideal.

Computer programming, as a field of computer science, is simply based on mathematics. It is the mother of all science and a universal language that describes the rules of the nature. Computer science would certainly not exist without the mathematics.
