I am seeking any basic hacks that can be used in the Linux shell for privilege escalation or denial of service. Information you have on this does not necessarily need to be source code of software. Concepts and ideas are just as welcome.

Privilege escalation is the name of the game. Anyone have any BASH privilege escalation techniques they want to share? I am looking for something other than shell code and mostly interested in little used and obscure concepts.

I like the latest issue. It is very hard to keep up with the latest when the magazine is not monthly (even then it would be behind).

I do like the fact they try to keep it simple and non-time sensitive due to the length between issues. I think they are heading in a more 'what is right now aka click jacking'

I think that may be a mistake.

I am curious to see what you guys think about EnGarde SL being included (over the usual BT).

Great mag!
Pretty easy for newbies to read and follow the tutorials... and the freebies that come with it are very useful too (esp the Backtrack distro in the latest issue)

This is knowledge worth investing...
