House of Hackers

Been testing a

PCM-9373 - 3.5" SBC with VIA® Eden, VGA, LCD, LVDS, LAN, USB

Main Features Embedded low power
VIA® Eden 400/667 MHz or VIA C3-LP 1 GHz processor
Fanless, 0 ~ 60° C operation (Eden 400/667) Supports LCD backlight turn-off function, 100/133 MHz FSB and 4 x AGP graphic for high performance applications ,2-Channel (two 18-bit) LVDS interface

useing a CF root,(freebsd 7.0 i386)
have the BT sync'ing with my q9h phone, pharos BT gps and my Ipaq H6300 (useeing the H6300 as an an all around bt, wifI, IRD, GPSR, and SD medai gateway.)

issue is the temp is running a bit hight, scratch that, it runs hot. I dont want to add fan due to the consumption, looking to under clock the cpu, in the same breath I do want to run BT and 80211 and lotz of usb RAM.

its to be deployed as a solar car/van computer,

I'll post a bit more on the project, Soon as I find a new case, old usb hd case did work, but after 3 weeks or so, I think it just get too hot. I building this ting to ride along on trip and run off 12dc, and take desert like temp's, so it's looking like I need a case with a bit more air flow, or encased and exposed out side.

any one else got any hardwere hackz with FreeBSD, or any other topic for Discussion.?

MR Fr annk
