To get the ball rolling, I'll start posting up a few important happenings both locally and externally in the IT & Hacking world. Feel free to contribute to this posting or by contributing your own article/disclosure/mirror/information, however please be careful to ensure quality and proper sourcing of your work. Thanks, and help to keep the discussions clean and moderated ;)

The new channel hack was first introduced using the buffer overflow exploit with the Zelda gamedisc, and has since been upgraded to work without using the disc. The channel brings concerns about copyright infringement, especially as the makers (Team Twiizers) have hinted at planning to include their own icon as a channel icon - previously a copy of the Mii channel was used to avoid this infringement. The new channel also brings fears of increased piracy due to the relative ease at which ISO loaders can be written and implemented within the channel, and some Wii modders are fearing that Nintendo will push a firmware update to remove and corrupt the channel if in fact an increased rate in piracy is caused by its widespread implementation.

The homebrew channel is yet to have wiimote support, however Team Twiizers have acknowledged that they are currently working on this and support will be included in the release. This channel offers an easy to use GUI for running your homebrew (home-made games by yourself or members of the wii-modding community) applications, however they can still of course be run using SD loading techniques.
