Let's do some stuff!
I think mediawiki is a good idea and that it would be a great place to have the ultimate list of hacking tools. This list would include a bit of history about each tool featured, what's its purpose is, it's pros and cons, when to use it/when something else would be better and real world examples of its use/walkthroughs.
How about this for an idea. We have six thousand members. A good proportion of these people must have a few pet projects in the works. What if every one here, every one who has a pet project going on, posts a forum thread about their project. Desribe what you're trying to acheive, whether you could use some help with any aspects of it etc etc. Then once you've done that, stay engaged with anyone who responds with ideas, help. If everyone does a thread and everyone reads other threads that look interesting to them we might start to see some people gravitating towards projects and working together on them. These could be documented on V2 and hosted on google code or sourceforge etc.
Go on, go do it now. I've got to go and walk my dog now and then I've got to cook supper, but later on, I'll be back to write down my pet projects...

good! this is the spirit. again the v2 domain is not finalized! if you have any suggestions drop them here and lets vote on the best one. I am actually considering to port GNUCITIZEN's Lab in to HoH as I will get more exposure of my projects and also get the community to support them if they are interested of course. If not, mediawiki is better than google sites, which is a still a good thing.
Before everyone goes and runs with an idea that might otherwize be considered unethical, or malicious we should have a coding system that only members only know or have access to. I as well as others here can find anyone (globally) and if someone is questionable they shouldn't have access to projects/sections that could be ruled as they @ "http://www.houseofhackers.org/" are up to no good. I have been everywhere in the web and know of sights such as this one that have been DDoS attacked and suspended because of their content, probably by some rogue government that fears the ethical. I know, I have the complete xxxxxxxxxx xxxxx, all their xxxxxx, (xxxxxx) & xxxxxxxxx to one such sight that gloated,"They were untouchable". Well they made a BIG mistake and now they are shut down. I don't want to be part of any forum that does not implement security measures as should be, seeing I for one know no one here.
So I think by being to verbal is a HUGE mistake, and there should be a place and time. I have read this thread and see a lot of good idea's and I for one think we should werk on them all. As for "misunderstood" I wish he/she would reconsider.

true... the thing is that there is very little you can do in situations like that. the main thing is to make sure that we all show that we have good intentions, which is the case. we are here not to harm but to learn and also to have some fun with the process of learning.
I still think there should be some sort of section like a "Dedicated" section, where you must have at least so many posts to enter. The reason why is because sometimes you have to be unethical to be ethical. Take for example a student of (IT & CEH) we all know that in order to catch a Black Hat, one sometimes has to become a Gray Hat to learn certain new exploitations, and vulnerabilities.
The only problem with phpbb boards is they can unplug you if they don't like content, I know of 2 forums into hacking were bounced in the past year. The reason and why always fell on the back of phpbb decision.
