If you want to hack a website create yourself a webgoat:
http://www.owasp.org/index.php/Category:OWASP_WebGoat_Project
That will give you hands on experience about web vulnerabilities.

Hrmmm. Interesting collection of answers.
How about, learn C, learn Perl, learn TCP, read the CERT alerts, swing by PacketStorm on a regular basis to collect and dissect POC scripts. Then enumerate, isolate and exploit.
Easy! And lame at the same time! Neato keen!!
