Hacking and Magic
To me, hacking is like magic. If I demonstrate a hack you will be amazed. If I show you how it is done you will be disappointed.

I'm a magician of the digital age. I can make things fly - drones i. e. are very smart. I build a small one. It flies with GPS and a rotor. Very cool. It has a camera and if I let it fly, I can watch it. Without being there I can look at places.
I can summon Pizza. Just by typing at pizza.de. Döner is very hard. I'm still seeking the Döner spell.
And yes: I can break things. Use sniffed accounts, make things broken. I could cause damage, but I like to know I could. That's enough. Because I can. I'm not a dark magician of this age. But I can kick these people's asses :).
You know: some can fake data well enough to make them able to change the identity. Some can summon expensive things just by using stolen credit card infos. Or hacked prepaid-cards. Some do. But it's magic. There's inquisition.

This is why religious arguments bore me to tears. Use what you like, but don't prosletize me. And don't think for a minute you're smarter because of the OS you choose. Hopefully, no one is not nieve enough to believe that their OS/box makes them smarter or cooler....
