A loose confederation of online troublemakers who call themselves Anonymous have declared war on the Church of Scientology by flooding its servers with fake data requests, describing the attacks as punishment for the Church's alleged abuse of copyright laws and alleged brainwashing of its members.
There are many other areas in our society where such attention should be directed. Do not let such misdirections in mediocrity disillusion us from progress.
...We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias...
I think there is no reason for hacking Scientology. If "we" attack one religious organisation, why don't attacking all the others too, for example the catholic church or the church of satan? We shouldn't take a hand in the belief of other people.
Bit, i think this time you're wrong. Scientology isn't a religious organization, its nothing more than a group of people getting rich using applied psychology.
They tell you you'd be "the chosen one" to save the world, and in the end, you've lost all your money and individuality.
I'm not sure if its the best way to hack them, because in this way you only give them reasons to say everyone "we're the victim, we try to help the world and they hate us!"; but even so I think its good to hurt them and show them there is a force that fights them.
Churches and nearly all sects do exactly the same. They manipulate people in another way. They don't tell, that you're the chosen one, but they tell, that you have to belief in a god or there was a chosen one, so you can identify yourself with this man. They steal your selfhood by giving you dogmas for your life. And they enrich themself by collecting money while worships, getting the church rate and similar. Other religions enrich themself by selling useless books for overcharged prices, or they manipulate people by domineering over them and so on. Why not to fight against them all? Is it better if you steal less money than other thieves? It's not in our scope to to decide about other people. Let them belief in a god or in their own person or whatever they like to belief in.
We say... I believe in my God... You believe in yours... To me my religion, yours to you. And nothing else should be done between... But this freaks with Scientology did deserve to be punished... Meybe we could send them a punisher. :-=
Every sect knows and uses psychological methods to get the money of their members. That's a typical attribute for sects. So why not to hack Jehovah's Witnesses or all the other sects, that use similar methods? Why especially Scientology? What make them worse than other sects? Their laughable intention for world domination?
The sad part about this all? Anon has been around for years. This is only news to the more main stream people as they started targeting Scientology. It makes it worse that this is the kind of activity the 'next' generation of hackers see. Kinda sends the wrong message, no? A message that says hacktivism is what we are all about? This is part of the reason for the lousy media and mainstream reputation of hackers in general.
