House of Hackers

So, i maybe will buy a macbook pro in the following weeks. I want a notebook which isn't in pieces after one year and I think that Macs have a pretty good quality.

Now, I've some Questions about OS X:
1) What can I do on Linux, that I can't do on OS X ? (unless the editing sources)
2) Can i use the HW Devices as in Linux?
3) What is the biggest problem of OS X , in your eyes?

Sorry for my bad English, I don't speak very well, please correct my entry ;)

1 - nothing... you can even run linux apps in it
2- yes but it's easier
3 - humm in my opinion, there's no problem at all, except the normal stuff like vulnerabilities, it's pretty good, you don't have the freedom you have with linux, but still it's very good.

The biggest security problem with OSX currently is that some verisions ship with the firewall turned off. Check out this (http://usingmac.com/2008/6/16/10-most-essential-things-for-securing...) guide on securing your mac. Mac is based of the BSD and so it can run most BSD programs. Lots of programs for linux are ported to Mac as well.

Thx for your answers!
I think I'll stay by Debian ... Cause I've read that OS X isn't soo good for "Hackers" (I don't mean Crackers)....

PS: Pls correct my messages, I want to be better in english ;)
