so. i'm a social hacker. i mean that i'm not hacking servers, but i'm hacking people. so, i not need some special tools or basic procedures. i just need icq,irc,jabber,skype,e-mail,etc... and so i can use any OS. but i'm using Ubuntu Linux.

Sure that works fine when you have a person.... but when you don't have a person and you need the job done your not going to get all that far without some real computer skill.

I think social hacking can be important, but at the same time it causes you to be dependent on people. Whereas in my case I am only dependent on computers :D

I think I'll use a dedicated Windows (on a VM ;) ) with a/ multiple Linux distro(s) and a specialized bootable distro to do some things.

Though, I don't really mind Windows. It has Olly, after all. Only think I'm missing is a powerful terminal (though, I can try out PowerShell [http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/technologies/management/...] or Cygwin to do things for me [http://www.cygwin.com/]).

Any, as long as you got the skills. This can be extrapolated to anything really.

There's no "basic" procedure for hacking I think.it totally depend on suchavation . Obviously there are the aspects of hiding, scanning, sniffing, analyzing, injecting, deploying and cleaning up.
for that i m using my best back track 3 and many tools which are basically used.

is windows not sufficient for being a appreciated hacking platform.. m sure linux provides better ground for it though ... bt still usually there are lot of ppl usin windows out there so is nt it great to support windows
despite of its annoyin features its got some great vulnerabilties that promote newbies into hacking .. :D

I like fedora 9 64. And use the KDE as my desktop but i spend most of the time in the terminal. I do like GUI's for scripts but still prefer basic Script to GNU.
